Hi Patriot Family! My name is Dawn Cobb, and I am thrilled to be a 3rd grade teacher at Independence Elementary! This will be my 22nd year of teaching, and all my years have been at IDES. Over the years, I have taught kindergarten, second grade, and third grade. Third grade has become my favorite! I grew up in Virginia but have lived in Rock Hill since 1986. I graduated from Winthrop University with a B.S. in Early Childhood and from Columbia College with a Masters in Divergent Learning. Also, I have an endorsement in Gifted & Talented Instruction. Away from school, I spend time catching up with my husband, Steve, my family and friends, and enjoying my hobbies. I have three children, two daughters and a son. My other “child” has paws. Cody is an Aussie Doodle. Activities I really like to do are read, cook, watch movies, and explore new destinations on vacation. I also love to be outdoors walking with my dog, working in my yard, or sitting on the back porch relaxing.
Independence is a wonderful school! I am looking forward to meeting and working with my new students and parents this year. Together we can make it the best year ever!
