Maria Bar

Hello Patriot Families!

I am Maria Bar and I teach 3rd Grade at Independence. I was born and raised in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia, but I have been in The Carolinas for over 18 years. I graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. This will be my 18th year teaching at IDES. 

My husband, Daniel, and I are raising our family in Charlotte, NC. Isaac (5) and Olivia (3) keep us very busy! We enjoy traveling to see our family and friends and spending quality time together. We love to cheer on Charlotte Football Club and the West Virginia Mountaineers! Let's GOOOOOOOO...Mountaineers! In my spare time, I love to read, listen to live music, and travel! 

I am looking forward to having a great year with my new 3rd Grade Leaders! We will work together to learn new content, while learning to LIVE and LEAD with a Happy Heart.
