    NAP TIME
    Nap mats are provided for all children to sleep on. Please provide a lightweight nap blanket for your child to cover up with. Please do not send any pillows or stuffed animals. 
     
    EXTRA CLOTHES
    Please provide 2 extra sets of clothes for emergency situations. (2 pants, 2 shirts, 2 underwear, 2 pairs of socks.
     
    MEALS AND SNACK
    Breakfast and lunch are free for all students for the 2024-25 school year. We have snack time towards the end of the day, where a snack is provided daily for all students.

    OVERVIEW OF 4K LEARNING
    This overview of 4K learning is just the beginning of all the wonderful things your child will learn about this school year. The best way you can support your child’s learning at home is by reading books to/with your child on a daily basis. 
     
    Social and Emotional Development
    Students will learn how to follow rules and transition safely within the classroom, show respect for and share with others, and work towards being able to name and control their feelings.
     
    Approaches to Play and Learning 
    Students will be guided to ask questions about something new, try new and challenging experiences, solve problems during play and learning, keep trying when something doesn't work, and be able to make a plan and put it into action. 
     
    Health and Physical Development 
    Students will build their small muscle control through cutting, fastening, writing, drawing, etc. 
    Students will build their large muscle control through running, skipping, hopping, etc.
    Students will demonstrate their ability to care for themselves within the classroom and be able to use their words to ask for help when needed.
     
    Reading and Writing Foundations 
    Students will build their ability to:
    -Imitate the act of reading and writing
    -Identify their name as well as the names of their classmates
    -Name upper and lowercase letters
    -Participate in rhyming and word play with books, poems and songs
    -Comprehend books and make connections to the text
    -Write their name
    -Identify letter sounds and rhyming words
    -Hear when words start with the same sound
    -Represent thoughts through drawings and writing letters or letter like forms
     
    Mathematical Thinking and Expression
    Students will build their ability to:
    -Name basic colors
    -Sort by color, size, and shape
    -Name and describe 2-D and 3-D shapes
    -Name numerals 0-10
    -Describe, copy, and extend patterns
    -Count orally to 20
    -Follow directions by using positional words
    -Compare objects by length, weight, and size
    -Add and subtract numbers up to 5
