Mrs. Hannah Goolsby- Assistant Principal

I am excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year as the Assistant Principal at Independence Elementary School.

I earned my undergraduate degree from North Georgia College & State University in 2008, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education: Adapted Curriculum in 2011 and a Master of Education in Educational Administration in 2020. I became a National Board-Certified Teacher in 2013 and renewed my certification in 2025.

I began my career as a special education teacher in 2009 and served in that role through 2023. From 2024–2026, I had the opportunity to serve as the Dean of Student Leadership, where I continued to grow as an educational leader and strengthen my passion for supporting students, teachers, and families. I am excited to begin my new role as Assistant Principal in 2026 and look forward to the opportunities this next chapter will bring.

Outside of school, I am married and a proud mom of two. I love spending time with my family and making memories together whenever I can.

As an educator and leader, I believe in building strong relationships, creating a supportive school community, and helping every student and staff member feel valued and empowered to grow. I am excited for a new school year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities.
